I feel the most important skills for 21st Century learning are communication, self-motivation, proglem solving and collaboration. I think content area is still very important but technology can be a great tool to reach the students today. I think we need to continually change our methods of teaching because students learn differently today.
Some new technology skills which I plan to use in my classroom are voice threads, Google docs., animototo and google earth. Google has so much to expolore. The project which Dianne and I have been working on has been missing a piece and I think some of these tools will help to complete it. A big part of our problem is the limited amount of time which we see the students. Also, I still need to better understand the wikis, twitter, etc.
I feel that I consumed more than I created. There's so much out there to explore and it can be a bit overwhelming. Also, I'm not real familiar with the Mac. I thought the blogs were a good way of communicating with each other. I'm not real comfortable with it yet, but I'm sure it will get easier. I did enjoy the discussions that we had in class.
When I started this class on Monday, I thought that this was really different than I thought it was going to be. It really made me stop to think about all the changes that are happening and how fast they're happening. Actually it is very exciting for me in the classroom and also what lies ahead for my own boys.
Thanks Katie for a good week.

Friday a.m.
I thought the article on the 9 Principles for Implementation was very good. I'm sure all of these points were taken into consideration on the high school 24/7 project. I think it's so important for everyone to buy into the project in order for it to be successful.

Wednesday a.m.
Yesterday was a good day. I enjoyed the discussion in the morning and felt a little more at ease. I can't believe how much technology has changed since I have started taking these classes. I'm half way through my career and feel like I'm starting over. I enjoyed the article Teaching for Tomorrow. That is so much how I was taught. Also, it was interesting because I had just interviewed my sister and there were so many correlations.
